Default SH III GW question and problem

Hi guys recently downloaded SH III from Steam and then added the GW mod, all fine and dandy so far, i then started up the basic tutorial (as you do) and immediately ran into two problems: 1 the boat would not start after finishing a minor course plot even though i gave it fresh orders and a new course and 2: for some reason even though i navigated the ordered course perfectly the adjectives would not confirm completion....any ideas? especially with the stalled boat problem.

IMO forget about the academy.
Try a career immediately and you will learn through your progress.
I don't think you will have those problems in career mode
Use the trial and error techinque.

1: Did you also set the throttle? Placing a waypoint might not be enough to move.

2: Others have had trouble with the 1st navigation mission also. Me included. It had something to do with diving at a specific place. But I can't remember the details. You might want to search about the navigation mission.

Normally when you lay waypoints the boat takes of at standard speed, which is why I always set 1 knot when leaving the pier. But that's not what was asked. Sorry about that. In the Nav mission I never lay waypoints. I wait for the radio messages, which tell you exactly what to do every step of the way. It shouldn't be difficult if you do that.

If you're using GWX you'll find that the Anti-Aircraft scenario is very difficult. On the other hand the Navigation Training gives you the full 1500 renown, so there is no need to do anything else, though I do love the Torpedo and Gun Training scenarios.

You could do a lot worse than following Steves advice, do a couple of tutorial missions and you should be good to go.
