New Song - Above The Clouds

Hi all! I just uploaded a new song if anyone is interested in having a listen. If you like it, I'd appreciate if you'd consider sharing, commenting etc.



I started writing Above the Clouds as the worst of the recession was becoming apparent. The news on TV and radio was so relentlessly depressing I began avoiding them entirely and wrote this to remind myself that despite the disaster that was engulfing us, somewhere above the clouds the sun was still shining.

From here inside my battered shell
I watch them playing kiss & tell
Sometimes, it's like I drink alone,
while winter crawls into my bones
Now that the tiger's hit the road,
A carrot dangled by a toad
Bankers and Gamblers had their day
and squandered what was ours away

Above the clouds the sun still shines
Stand and feel it warm me
And in the darkest days and times
It takes me where I should be

I sit and watch my TV screen
Bull**** and horror make me scream
Doctored for us all to see
While sitting on Big Brother's knee
Because we don't know what to think
They'll keep us voting, till we blink
Do we deserve what we've been sent
Corrupted, compromised and bent

Above the clouds the sun still shines
Stand and feel it warm me
And in the darkest days and times
It takes me where I should be

I stand beneath a leaden sky
A western wind, wish I could fly
But I would surely hit the ground
A mighty crash without a sound
Sometimes I wonder if they’re here
Just learning how to manage fear
And that would only be a shame
But we have no one else to blame

I may not be a rock fan anymore, but I like this, well done a few pix would be cool
