Default TDW NewUIs radio reports

First things first, hello to all Subsimers! I've been lurking here for a while without introducing myself, so I think it's time to correct that. Also, a big thank you to TheDarkWraith, Stormy, Stoianm, Trevally, AvM, Athlonic, Heretic, Sober and Church for those fantastic improvements they made to this game! I thought I'd revert to SH4 until I saw all those amazing mods which made SH5 a sim again.

I have one question regarding radio messages I receive with NewUIs mod. I know that those "sub sighted" and contact reports are "for real". Recently though, I received a radio intercept telling that some HMS destroyer attacked a submarine. The coordinates provided were like 30 minutes from my location at flank speed (if my last navigation fix wasn't too far off truth), so I went there to look and help out a fellow Kaleun. Now I don't think that a destroyer attacking a sub would vanish in 15 minutes (approximate time to get out of my range at 35 knots ) unless it is sunk, but when I got to those coordinates and scanned the area with hydrophone I heard nothing (nothing also in the vicinity). So I wanted to know: was this just immersion message with no "real" background, or I just missed that destroyer?

Related mods I think are TDW's NewUIs 6.6.0 with Real Navigation and IRAI 0.0.30 (and the hydrophone .exe fix).

the easiest way to tell 'immersion' messages from others are the color of their background. If they are uncolored (not blue, red, etc.) then they are for immersion purposes only.

The Sub sighted and periscope sighted messages are real. If you were to go to those coordinates you would find a sub. Those messages aren't just for your sub - they are for any sub that is sighted by another unit.

Thanks. I think I got that color coding (red is about me, blue is for me), but most of the other messages are still a mystery. Anyway, I'll still try and investigate if I'm near. You never know if a message turns real, even if just by coincidence

Haha, Iv been wondering this same thing myself. It often seems that the peri/sub sighted messages are related to the contact reports you get that show you ship/convoy/task force on your nav map. Often times it seems like you will get sub/peri sighted messages whos cordinates lead you right to these "contact reports" on the nav map. Even hours later, when the contact mark on the map is nearly faded away, and whoever was there at the time should be long gone, I will still get sub/peri sighted messages with cordinates leading right to them, seems strange.
