Was there ever a "fix" for the lack of Sun-Glare ?

I noticed that the sun just appears as a hazy disc (just like in SH4 with Nvidia cards) and I tried a search on the forum to see if others had the same problem.

Search results seemed to indicate that it wasnt just Nvidia cards that were having this problem in SH5.
There were a few suggestions to try Capthelms lighting effects mod, but although this did produce some nice reults in other aspects of the view ,the sun still appeared as a pale disc.

Was there ever any solution to this , or is it just something I have to live with ?

Im using an Nvidia 8800GTX with driver number 8.17.12.7533 under windows 7.
