Sorry for newbie question but I have GWE lastest version with SH3 Commander. Am I correct that renown is no longer a factor in GWE? I start with 500 point ( or 300) In GWE how to I repair and gain points???
I seem to use my renown points quickly |

In GWX you are no longer credited renown for reaching your patrol area and staying there for 24h as it was in stock SH3.
If you want this back you can edit the basic.cfg file (using notepad) to reset the values to your liking. You are given renown for sinking enemy ships which you can use in port to take a new sub or upgrade your equipment. Repairs are done with no renown cost, only extra days in port 1 day for 1% damage IIRC |

In GWX, some uboat upgrades are given for free or for less points than in stock version.

I added the renown mod and was surprised at the values. 300 for reaching the patrol area, 500 for staying 24 hours and 100 for returning to port?
900 points without sinking a ship. Woah. I see why the GWX team removed 'em.

Renown for returning to port, like the Helmsman qualification, was never actuated in SH3. It doesn't matter what value shows up in Basic.cfg
If desired, you can edit [RENOWN] in root directory/SilentHunterIII/data/Cfg//Basic.cfg to get any quantity you want - be it zero or 1,000,000 - for reaching your objective and patrolling 24 hours. And at the end of a patrol, you can also give yourself any amount of renown you want by editing the 3rd from the last line (DeltaRenown=xxxx) in MyDocs/your directory name/Data/Cfg/Careers/Playername/patrols_0.cfg

Therefore, given that renown for return is not an option, (as per the previous post), I like to set my Basic.cfg with nothing for 24 hours and 500 for reaching the assigned point. ![]() |
