Question: what was the cop car, following it, going to do? Pit it? |

Chasing in a police car, right.
Why did not any dumb had the idea to just run alongside and stop it ? It was not that fast ? |

Maybe because nobody there knew how to drive a tractor. And maybe because while it doesn't look that fast on film, when you're actually standing right there it looks very fast indeed. A six-foot wall doesn't look like it would be hard to jump off of, but when you're eyes are almost twelve feet in the air it can be terrifying.
But where was the driver himself? Or was he the one who finally did shut it off?

Doesnt look like there was a driver.
Those tractor tires are about 5 feet tall, and its moving at a good pace that you probably could match in a run - however boarding the tractor would require you to run in the little space just ahead of the main tire, hopping up on to the step, climbing into the cab, and heroically commandeering the tractor and bringing it to a stop. sounds super easy until you are running in front of that 5 foot tire, while concentrating on grabbing hold of a hand hold and placing a foot on a the step to lift yourself into the cab. its hard enough for some folks to climb aboard when the tractor is stopped. and one false move... guess where you would end up? under that big tire, attached to that heavy tractor. Looks like it was running a big circle anyhow. the thing to do would have been to let it run out of fuel, or find a willing big rig truck driver to wedge it between the building and his truck cab buying someone time to board it while it was stuck.

GR, to be honest, it doesn't even sound easy to begin with.

LOL @ all the bystanders just watching.
Seriously, someone could have quite easily hopped into the drivers seat and brought the vehicle to a stop. Even with todays tractors, the only way it could have run like that by itself would if it were in Low Range, which means a max speed of 3 mph (with no driver present or ~18mph w/driver). Can Americans move faster than that without a powered vehicle? ![]()

![]() ![]() Amazing how many rounds the tractor went, the wall mart wall provided a perfect deflection angle for it I also think that the guy in the reflective pants could be the owner of the tractor, this explains his interest in stopping it.... "oh ****, forgot my tractor keys in the vehicle" |
