Default Rate your 5 hardest Boss Battles!

What bosses made your veins pop out in utter frustration?
What boss gave your sorry a**e the biggest hiding, even bigger than your momma used to give you as a kid?

Anything in Touhou. However I haven't played Touhou, just watched aghast at the videos and made small weeping noises.

For games I have played...hmmm...

Necron in FFIX was a bit of a sod, Grand Cross was annoying, but I did beat him without much frustration.
I can think of levels that have made me tear my hair out in frustration, but those games didn't really have bosses per se...although I guess you could count the end level bosses in Hunt For Red October as a boss type battle...and they were annoying.

Really? I found Necron fairly easy, auto haste, auto life, auto potion, as many anti status ability I could use after using those 3 auto ablities left Necron dead at my feet after around 5 mins. And I just started FFIX over again too, looking forward to beating him again at the end.

Hmm boss fights that made me want to scream. Well the plant boss at the start of FF IX has made me want to tear my hair out in frustration due to his cheap and lucky hits on Vivi, downing my main damage dealer in the fight.

Ridley in Metroid prime was frustrating as sometimes the controls wouldnt respond so I couldn't manage to dodge fast enough.

The final boss of AK, the one that inflicts insanity. He was annoying as a mage as I suck at kiting so I'd get taken down by the shades before I could be rescued and resulted in 5 wipes before we called it.

Some others, cant think of them offhand.

Sephiroth in FFVII. First time I played a FF game, so no fancy stuff like that Knights of the Round, barely strong enough to take him on. Took me half an hour and my entire supply of megalixers and ethers, lot of phoenix downs. T'was glorious.

Finishing him off with omni-slash, which I had never seen before, was just bloody awesome.

Guess you can rank the weapons as the others. They were pretty tough unless you really grinded up to high level.

* ah there's also that materia keeper, just after visiting Cloud's hometown (or was it Zack's?). Was stuck there for ages, untill I realised my fire magic was healing the bugger.

That robot just before taking the sub took a few tries too, did a lot of damage when he fired Lapis Lazuli.

.
Yessss. I remember playing this religiously on my ps1.
And yes, Sephiroth was a pain in the backside.
Many many fails before getting passed him.
The controller was suffering badly, my fits of rage clearly evident to those around me.

I found the boss fights in Painkiller to be really hard on the higher difficulty settings. Other than that I can't think of any memorably difficult bosses. After 20 years of gaming they all just sort of blend together in my minds eye to form a single massive health bar.

Bendak Starkiller and Malak from Knights of the Old Republic. And the first time I tackled a corvette in Star Wars Galaxies. And Ravenholm from Half Life 2, that whole level was so hard for me to get through it might as well be a boss

World of Warcraft, my friend.

25 man raid attempting to teach the Lich King a lesson, with my guild.
We failed miserably, many many times.
Victory came, but, it was too far into the future at that time

Hmmm... I only got to him on ten man regular... but I quit the game before I downed him.... my only regret in leaving that game is not getting that title...
