Skippers!
Is there a way to shut off the prompt screens in 1.5? These are the screens that pop up asking you if you want to Engage target, Dive to periscope depth, or watch TV ![]() I can't stand these things, they're disruptive and a little stupid, moreover, they take your attention away at the very time when the game is the most fun. Is there a mod to shut it down? Or a file to pilfer? I say thanks in advance and Good Hunting! D40/out ![]() PS/Edit, I have done some searching on this and can't come up with anything so far...

When it pops up, before you click anything, click the lower left corner, where it says "Make this the standard function" (I don't remember what it actually says, but you get the idea). Then choose what you want it to do. It will now do that every time, and will never ask again.

Gee, my version of SH1.5 must be out of whack. I have NEVER been given the option of watching television. (btw, what were the tops shows during the war? Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam [refer to emblem below], Andy Divine, Squeaky, Midnight ["Nice'] and Froggy ["Twang your majic twanger Froggy"], and Daffy/Tweetie ["I thought I saw a puddy tat. I DID! I DID! I saw a PUDDY TAT!"]?) What about Soupy Sales? ["What do you know about lettuce? Long ago the French used heads of lettuce as binoculars. They would cut two holes in the head and hold it in front of their face so they could watch the French dressing! It's true."]

Yer not going to believe this but now that you mention it, I have 7 Looney toons collections that I watch whilst playing SH4 (including the war collection with Bugs literally bugging Herman Goering and you know who and Daffy (my Favorite) whoping Adolf over the head with a mallet. Add to that another bunch of collections from Fleisher with some old black and white Popeye stuff and I'm in the mood to play. I'm only 50 yrs old, I've gotta' have some fun! Good Hunting ![]()

Hey Goin'Down--You're joking, right? There was NO television during WWII. The shows you refer to were all done at least 10 years after the war ended...Soupy Sales shows were broadcast by ABC in the 1960s.

![]() <clearing throat> While it is true that during WWII, commercial Television was in a slump, it is not exactly accurate to say that there was "no television during WWII" NBC started regular TV broadcasting in 1939 CBS started regular TV broadcasting in 1939 Dumont started regular TV broadcasting in 1940 The selling of advertising was approved by the FCC on 1 July 1941 The BBC had their first TV schedule in 1936. And those are just the commercial networks. If you want to consider corporate TV stations the record is held by General Electric The first regular schedule of TV programming is begun by GE in Schenectady. Programs are transmitted Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. When was this? 11 May, 1928! ![]() There may not have been a lot of TV during WWII, but hardly none. ![]()

How about the screen prompt that says Your Submarine has been Destroyed.
I never like seeing that one. |
