There are loads of different way. If you have realplayer it will download it for you, but probably the easiest option is to DL youtube downloader from here:

http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/

This will do it for you, also, if you DL a music video this will give u the option to then change it to an MP3 for your ipod or whatever. My kids use this to get the music they want.

If you have any difficulty with it PM me and I will guide you through it, but it is pretty straightforward.

I am confused by the speed calculation.

How are you deciding what number to divide the vessel maximum speed by?

I struggle so much with the torpedo section...really bad.

But I think that you divide it by three, for slow, medium and fast...but dont trust me on that I am dreadful at this part of SH3.

I never know how far ahead of the ship the nose of my boat has to be before I fire...no wonder my tonnage os so bad.

I wish one of the Aces here would write a "How to fire torpedos for Dummies" post....hint hint

Well, I used the "fixed wire" method of determining range, and then I fire at 90 degrees to track.

Here is how it works:

1) Point your scope at 000 degrees bearing. Drive your sub at an intercept course pointing very nearly in front of the target. By pointing your scope down 000 bearing, you negate the effect of your sub's speed on the target speed reading.

2) Identify target in Ship Recognition Manual to determine target length.

3) Wait for the target bow to cross your vertical reticule, then start your stopwatch.

4) Wait for the target stern to cross your vertical reticule, then stop the stopwatch.

5) Calculate target speed using the forumla (length of target in meters * 1.94) / time in seconds

6) Bring sub to heading 90 degrees to target track. Set scope to 000 bearing.

7) Enable TDC manual data entry. If sub is to right of target, set AOB to 90 degrees starboard. If sub is to left of target, set AOB to 90 degrees port. I think of the AOB gauge as the target ship itself. Rotate the needle right if the sub is to the right of target, rotate the needle to the left if the sub is to the left of target.

8) Set torpedo to desired speed and depth.

9) Set target speed. Disable TDC manual data entry. Open tube doors.

10) Return to scope view, which should be still at 000 bearing. Turn scope left or right until Gyroangle reads 000. This should be 5-15 degrees from 000 bearing, pointing towards the target to "lead" it. The amount of deflection depends on the speed setting of your torpedo.

11) When target crosses vertical reticule, fire torpedo. If target speed was accurately determined, torpedo will strike target where the reticule was on the target when the torpedo was fired.

Note that this method has the advantage in that range to target is irrelevant.

Note also that you can also determine the target speed by plotting a point on the nose of the ship at an interval of 3 minutes 15 seconds, and drawing a line between them. Multiply the distance by 10 to convert to knots. For example, if the target travels .5km in 3 min 15 sec, the ship is going 5 knots. This method is trivial if you have map contacts on.

Well, for speed calculation, I look at the speed of the vessle from the reconigntion manual. So say the speed is 18 knots on the manual. I dived that by 3 because there are 3 speeds usualy they are traveling, slow, medium, fast. So 18/3 = 6. Therefore speed input for the TDC would be 6 knots. You look through the scope viewing the wake. If he's passing through the scope slow (holding it in one direction), then you do that. If he's traveling fast then 18/2 = 9. So he's traveling 9 knots. You dived the max speed by 2 or 3 looking through the scope.

Hope that clears it up
