Samsung Plasma TV HDMI problem - Help!

I have 2 devices plugged into the TV, a Bluray player on HDMI1 and a HDD recorder on HDMI2, these were working ok in the past but now if I select either HDMI 1 or 2 I get the following message:

MODE NOT SUPPORTED
The resolution is not supported on this TV. Please change the resolution.

I fail to see that the fault lies with the 2 HDMI devices, the chances of both having the same problem is very unlikely and the only common thing to both is the TV, I checked the connection plugs and both are properly secured.
If I was to change the resolution of either HDMI devices I fail to see how since it can't display the devices menu to change settings, only this error message, this is rather frustrating!!
Can someone offer some help/guidance please?

Well after a couple of hours of playing around I decided to disconnect both HDMI devices, turn the TV back on then reset the TV and turned it off, reconnected the HDMI devices and turned the TV back on, turned the BluRay on and away it goes, also the HDD recorder and now that is going! Whew!!
Don't ask me what went wrong!! but at least it's going!
