just started campaign

i just launched this and re-launched a campaign..problem is the only icons visible are the officers at the bottom middle of the screen...No controls at the sides or bottom of the screen????? is this normal for the campaign?? i went and tried a historical mission and everything shows up normally??

did you skip the tutorial or is it your first time with campaign? if you havent played tutorial then you have to disable TDW's UI mod ( assuming that you are using it) then after completing tutorial you can enable mod after saving in the bunker. it is highy suggested to play stock game when you are playing tutorial.

and please take a look to sober's sticky about how to start a campaign. might be useful.

yeah, i skipped the tutorial i guess because i installed the mods before i tried the vanilla sim...
thanks for that info,,,i was wondering where those tutorial scenario,s were when i read some threads about them..

just noticed your home port,,,you go to Istanbul Park Circuit to see the F-1 cars?? Looks like an AWESOME circuit.....

ok,, un-installed mods,,played tutorial,,got green check,,loaded mods again,,,was standing in pen talking to officer to get assigned to the lorient...now how do you get on the boat????am i the only one who can,t figure this out?? i click on the officer again and go to start mission or patrol (whatever it says) ,,,and it says 'do you really want to go without a mission" ( or something close to that effect)

I really want to like this sim as it has great graphics,,but seems like there are too many hoops to jump through to get this thing really underway..SH3 & 4 were pretty much straight -forward...maybe this is to and i,m too dumb to comprehend???????

first ask the oficer what are the missions... then click on a missions to be assigned to you...hit escape...start againg the dialog with the oficer and choose start mission... seems you did not choosed your mission

i was just on the steam forum looking for answers and this exact question was asked..
one of the replies was....Thank goodness for forums when it comes to this game, because the info sure didn't come w/ the game in any form!

I.LL SAY!!! Do they just assume you,ll know to click on this or that icon???
And the manual SUCKS for explaining anything..
sorry for the rant but i,d like to stick one of these torps up the developers stern for LACK of info!!!!!
this game has caused me more frustration than any other sim i,ve tried...
