Default Stuffed Greens

Its election time and results are coming in.
The Green party have thankfully been kicked into oblivion.
It is a pity the Failers are still winning some seats though as they deserved to go the same way as the Greens.

Looks like the Fianna Fáil got soundly defeated; the Greens down some points as well.

Labour did alright, as did Fine Gael, and I see Sinn Féin are still in Irish politics. Surprised to see the Socialists with two seats, but then, you folks on the other side of the Pond do handle things differently.

I think the US would get pretty confused were we to have as diverse a political field as Eire, but that doesn't mean I don't wish it were so anyway.

Which is why it is funny when some .people over there talk about the far left and socialist in US politics when they are really talking about center right.

One of the funniest outcomes from the resounding defeat of the last bunch of crooks is the Failers announcement that they are thinking of expanding into British elections

Grizzly Adams is the reason. I don't mind about Kirk, Ceann Comhairle being what it is.

Quota on first count too
Given the old El-paso nature of some of the localities would a RSF/32CSC candidate have split his vote much? Or was one of the Independants one of those nuts anyway.

Out of curiosity: What is wrong with the Green party in Ireland in your opinion or why did the Irish voters teach them a lesson as you say?

I am asking because I am not familiar with the political landscape in Ireland. I would presume that Green party Ireland is similar to the Green Party in Germany, "alternative-ecological", slightly left from center or whatever it is. Would not people blame the Conservatives or Labour for the present economic situation in Ireland? That is what I would have expected.

The Greens entered a coilition with one of the most corrupt governments possible after stating that they would never join in or legitimise such behavior.
They joined in for an offer of a few crumbs that might at some time in the future once hell had frozen over be thrown to them.
At any time at all they could have collapsed the govt. and kicked the crooks out. For years they just kept hanging on for some imaginary crumbs they thought they had been promised.
Even when it was obvious to even the blind that the govt. was nothing but a train wreck they still insisted in propping up the wreckage and driving another train into the pile for good measure.

People blame the Failers for the mess but blame the Greens for keeping them in power.
