ENEMY SUBS ARE INVINCIBLE????

WTF I encounter this little british SS1, my first ss encoubter and he just goes around in zig zags with a little pea shooter MG, and completely cripples my sub while I pump 100 rounds into him with the deck gun. This is defiently a bug, or do I need patch something? Really pisses me off!

They aren't worth the bother.

They are incredibly good gunners, even at 5K+ meters, and punch way above their weight.

And the renown is peanuts if you do manage to sink it.

They cannot submerge and are too slow to chase you, so you can just go deep an hour and avoid the grief.

In the game there are various waypoint, possible that the submarine is the subject of it, or the Philadelphia Experiment...

Just ignore them, and go after the juicy targets, i.e merchant ships

If you can hit one with an eel (despite their low renown value) you will see them 'settle' then sink slowly but as already stated, probably not worth the bother/effort.

IIRC none of the AI subs can submerge, including the German ones.

Not exactly....they still have a role to play as escorts and have a sting within their deck armament.

Why are they invincible though? Or do they have 16+ inch of armor

But seriously, the subs won't die with shells,I put almost 50 shells into the hull AND conning tower. as well constantly shooting the weapons nothing happens, they don't take damage.

3 88's and a spray from the flak dropped a T class in the dover straits for me... he didn't even see me until the first shell took out his deck gun :P

I like the challenge of sinking another submarine. Hence, the dedicated section in my sig.

That's down to the damage model being a tad disproportionate to their size but hit em in the 'sweet spot' and you should hurry them along to their demise.
