In the old Community Manual for SH3, there is a tab for Career Timeline.

In this, it lists on what date each sub becomes available, conning towers, sonar, radar, guns, etc.

Is there someplace that lists this information for SH4?

no. but you get mark 18s by mid july 1943, fairwater trim = (new bridge) in a balao class, upon reaching some renown, SJ beginning 1943, cutie by beginning 44, mark 16 by march 45, alternately:

Go to UPCUnitData folder in your SH4 directory. SH4 \Data\UPCUnitData\, and look at the files, or print them out for the UpgradePacks.upc, and the UnitParts upc files for the individual boats.

All the dates are there for when you get more toys for the boat, and when mods become available, and also the individual boat files will tell you when they became operational.
