Default Manilla to Java Base Change

Hi folks,
Started a new US career last night and ran the first patrol. 2 questions:

1) While in the patrol area I received a message saying a Task Force was to be at a certain place and time the next day and all units should attempt to intercept. I probably could have made it but it would have been outside the patrol zone. So would the 96 hour patrol time counter have been reset or could I go intercept and then return and continue my patrol?

2) On my return to Manilla I got the message to change base to Java immediately. However the anchor icon at Java didn't change to the slanted icon to show I could finish my patrol there. So I returned to Manilla and ended my patrol. So could I have gone straight to Java and finished my patrol there after receiving the message even though the anchor wasn't slanted?

Thanks.

Welcome abroad.

1) It would've been reset.

2) Home port is only where the slanted anchor is.

You can do your patrol anytime. You won't get punished for not doing it, just need to sink ships. I seldom do my patrol area.

Not sure if your using mods or if it has any effects. Usually when you get a base change message it may take a few days until the anchor shows it a docking base. As stated, you must dock at the tilted anchor. It should show soon after a message.

Lot's of action off the coast of Java late Feb until early March. Moreso if you use RSRD mod.

You won't have Surabaya long, should lose it end of Feb 42, then to Fremantle you go.
