Help Please

I just recently went back to SHIII and I went to reinstall it on my laptop but when I do it has NYGM 2.5 installed automatically on it is this is from a vanilla install and when it loads from the first screen it crashes. Also when I try to upgrade patch 1.4 it tells me there is some issue with the stutka. I've been trying everything i've read on simular issues to no avail. I'm at a loss.

You are obviously not using the file (or DVD) you got when you bought the game.
