Default SH mods ftw

Hello all, I'm a long time reader and player, new joiner.
I've been playing SHIII GWX 3.0 on 42% realism (everything but the manual stuff) way to much (according to my gf) for almost a year now, still not bored at all. Also own SH4 with expansion, haven't really got into it yet probably cause it's still stock. If anyone could tell me what awesome mods I should get I might give it more of a chance.
I'm hopelessly addicted.
Joined so I could DL the Res fix (thanks a lot by the way) I'll be sure to let everyone know how it works once I install it.

Thanks again, you guys are awesome.

*Anyone who says GWX is too hard should READ THE MANUAL*

Ok so I installed the res fix, didn't work on the res I set it to, put back in the unmodified values and it works and looks great!

The new monitor I just got is full HD (1920/1080). I tried setting it to 1440/1080 to take advantage of the native res while keeping the 4/3 ratio. Game crashed right after intro vids. If anyone knows what I can do to boost the res anymore I'm all ears.

Thanks guys,

Frob

I'm running it at 1400x1050 with the res fix, have gfx card set up not to auto-scale to fit the 1680x1050 monitor. I have to use a third party app to force a change in desktop res while the game is running (my ATI card won't accept the scaling options while the desktop is set to the monitor's preferred res) but it works. Runs in fullscreen with black bars down the side.

Don't know how high anyone else has been able to get their game res with that mod while trying to run "fullscreen" and still keep the native 4:3 ratio.

There are some widescreen mods out there, altho they don't necessarily work for everyone - seems to depend on what gfx card you have and what your monitor's preferred res is. But poke around in the relevant forums and you may find something that works for you.

And welcome aboard!
