Please Help!!

Hi hope someone can help

i have been playing the campaign mode on silent hunter 5. I started the game up tonight and found that my character has grown. the captain looks like hes about two foot taller than the rest of the crew but and because of this i cant move from one part of the sub to the other nor climb the ladder as i am to tall to go through any hatches. Cany any one help?

also my game has become very slow and sluggish. which it has never done before. i have a HP Pavilion DV7 laptop. i was told it will run quite happily any game. i have installed AMD Phenom (tm) II p920 quad core processor 1.60 gh. with 1 gig dedicated memory
