Interesting movie, Below (2002)

Hey,
Haven't been around in awhile. Just popped in 'cause I just watched this movie, Below. IMDB -- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0276816/
Didn't really search to see if it's been talked about -- can you imagine searching a sub-forum for the word 'below' and trying to find specific references to a movie? LOLz nothanks
Anyhow ...
Yeah, it's from 2002 .. I'm a little behind I guess. I'd never heard of it before this week tho. Just finished watching it.
Gotta say, I expected total schlock, and was rather surprised. Sure, it's not the greatest sub movie ever, but it's a LOOONNNG ways from the worst. Besides, it's more a submarine / horror movie; so in my mind, being partly a horror movie, it can be forgiven foibles such as historical / technical innacuracies.
What it is, IMHO, it does fairly well ... and that is a naval ghost stroy, essentially. I rather enjoyed it, and hope others will too.
..
or, if you've seen it, what did YOU think??

I just watched this the first time a few months back, after someone else mentioned it here. I really enjoyed it for what it was, I'm sure there was stuff that wasn't realistic but I was too caught up in the spooky aspect of the story to care at the time. I definitely give it a thumbs up.

I actually caught about 2/3rds of it on Tv and from what I saw it looked interesting. One of the writers was Darren Aronofsky, and he was supposed to direct it but did Requiem for a Dream instead. I need to remember to check Netflix for it to catch the whole thing.

I really enjoyed this movie when I watched it a couple years ago. As I recall, some of the commands issued in the movie were used in a Silent Hunter IV mod. Sounds really good.
