I just installed TMO and am getting low fps and pauses. Haven't had any problems with FOTRS or RFB. Both exterior and interior, more noticeable on exterior, intermittent from interior.
I do have an older system amd 64 3500+, geforce 6800 gt 256 mb, 2 gb ram, however worked great with the other mods. I'd love to get the content of TMO, but whatever environment mod is killing my system. This is with all the extras turned off in the graphics options and sliders on low, runnign 1024x768. I think i'm screwed, but any suggestions? Maybe download an earlier environmental mod and activate over tmo? |

If using the beta patch, try removing the bump mapping layers on the boats, from said patch. File i believe is something like
data/submarine/NSS_whatever/N01_NSS_whatever.dds It will probably be the only DDS file along that path within the patch directory, so it should be hard to spot. |

Your pushing it with your specs, specially the video card. Our specs are almost identical, cept mine is a 3800 and I use a 9600gt and able to run maxed out settings with it...cards are cheap, get a 9600 for about $60

LIke i said, it works pretty well with FOTRS and RFB and that's with maxed out at 1024x768. Only started have fps issues once i installed tmo. I don't think i'm using the beta patch, i have the gold edition 1.5 with uboat missions. |

I agree with Armistead. Your system (AMD 64 3500+) is more than up to the task but an AGP card on the MoBo

I was in the same boat a couple years ago. I think Nvidia makes one card that still fits an AGP. It was the 7800 or 7900 i think, i forget exactly. Probably 7800. But at any rate, it was the fastest card to fit an AGP, and only NVIDIA makes it as i recall.

You're right. I saw a GForce7800 (AGP) on TigerDirect a couple of months ago, very cheap. Unfortunately, they aren't carrying them right now. Still, I've seen them there periodically so these cards are bound to show up there sooner or later. They are getting harder to come by though. They do have a number of ATI cards that are AGP compatible but, I'm not too familiar with ATI.
