I have not played SH4 in years. I remember that you had to save something on desktop before starting the game. You had to pull some kind of save file on the left in the desktop picture

Not SHIV. Maybe your thinking of one of the earlier versions or a different sim altogether?

You mean in the office? yeah the radio is options. The cabinet to your left has 2 shelves. Top shelf, behind the radio, save file, lower shelf load file.
Crew pic on desk = crew managament (hiring not actual sort by options i.e. from office of recruitment)

Revell model is upgrades, Cigar box is your medals, telephone is transfer flotilla, and board map is start mission. notice board left of Map is Tonnage aces, Door is leave career (old patch) or exit to main menu (1.5)

One more thing. Sailor photo= dud = null
