I only registered to be able to download a certain file...

I bought Silent Hunter III in a Steam sale a while back, can't exactly remember. I never played it and it lied dormant in my Steam library.

I was heavily interested in submarine warfare after I read Red Storm Rising and the Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy but I didn't really think about playing SH3 because it was set in WWII and the subs Red Storm Rising and the Hunt for Red October were nuclear-powered Los Angeles class subs.

When Steam added the recommendation feature, one of my friends wrote a small review for SH3 and that was when I decided to try it out.

Complicated as hell game but it is pretty fun!

WELCOME ABOARD!

As with most historical sims, the stock game is pretty blah. Browse through all the forums for mods, and don't hesitate to ask questions. You're in for quite a ride.

Just modding it with GWX 3.0 and SHCommander3.2 make it a whole new sim.
The sprinkle on the multitude of smaller mods.

Also there's 2 other large SH3 mods.

Look into the "Multi SH3 Install" mod too.

And make 1 post then, not respond.
