Default my gaming rig!

I didn't want to spend more than a grand found this one on auction here Been wanting to play SH5 properly since it came out but had to QQ for months cause the pc I have spits the dummy. Good enough for WoW and SH3 & 4 but bad for SH5.

okay its not top of the line when it comes to gaming rigs but this beauty will play SH5.

Paying tonight waiting for courier to arrive before Christmas! Gonna be a long wait...

Costs $679 - no monitor/kb/mouse just the box. Good enough for me. As i have spare gear lying around.

Criticism welcome. Might upgrade to Windows 7 later in the New Year

Pretty expensive considering what you're getting Frank. Yea my budget for a rig is also about a thousand bucks. If you spend more the excess tech will become cheaper in the next 6 months hence wasting money.

I prefer to build my gaming rig always. Waaay cheaper that way and you get far more powerful Jedi I mean PC cough cough, but if you're happy then I guess it's just fine.

Spent about 600 bucks for the following
Gigabyte Ultra durable(all solid capacitor) Motherboard
3x2 Gb DDR3
i5 661 2 cores 4 threads at 3.33GHz (I know it's a mistake)
1 T 7200rpm HDD
1 DVD-RW
A case

I'll be buying the GTX460 and a new mid-end 700W PSU in February. I intentionally want to use far higher rated PSU in the hope it will last longer and provide a far more stable power to the rig.

Congrats on the new rig but I don't have high hopes for Silent Hunter V honestly. I'm waiting for Shogun 2 Total War and Dragon Age 2. Been playing Dragon Age Origins again these past couple days too. It's a great game. My quest to get Mass Effect 2 for the holiday has failed..there's no more genuine copy available.

Gaming pcs aren't cheap over here. I was going to build one but cause I live in the country I have to order parts then wait for them to arrive & slowly build it up etc., Thought this time I'll just buy one already set up and ready to use.

a couple of cheaper pcs (new) that came with widescreen monitors/kb/mouse, nice system specs except for the integrated onboard video which put me of from buying - then there were the kick ass gaming rigs priced at around $3000+. So I stuck with the $679 one

3,000 bucks rig is wasting money imo unless money was really no issue.
