Default AAR - rowi58's reports of patrols

Hi folks,

this is just a report from my patrols – you can call it an AAR (After Action Report) or what you would like to call it.

I'm not a friend of many words, so I would like the picture to talk to you. But it is (they are) always taken from the actual patrol within our almost favourite SH3. I know, there is a special thread for “screenshots”, with great “shots” at all. But I think – a little bit closer to “real” career - will enhance this good old game.

First of all – i'm playing with my “private” MOD CCoM – which is the mother of LSH3 V3-V5. Next – i'm always starting with “SH3_Commander,” a tool without SH3 would have been nothing. And all 54 releases of CCoM are activated with JSGME.

That's all as a foreword. The “rest” will come in this thread as picture and small text.

Career name: Erich Topp
Starting time: 01. September 193

First patrol:
Starting before the war at 01 clock AM. Got full ammunition and was wondering why at that time. We were told that there will not be a war against Great Britain. Someone lies! Leaving Kiel at night:

My dear “old” and big fat uncle – the “Sperrbrecher”. He helps me get out of Kiel.

The never finished “Graf Zeppelin” is returning from a machine trial to Kiel. What a kind of ship! Sad to say that we will never see him again:

At he dawn of day: a small German convoy heading to Kiel. Nice to see good old sailing ships:

At the first day of hostility, i've sunk a ferry ship (AG124's “Chatham Transport”). Got a 5.000 GRT+ “HighScore”:

Next “victim”. A large freighter, with some “critical” loading. But the North Sea is deep enough to hide this “freight” :

Those damned “birds” are thrilling me every time. Just in September 1939, they are still above you, keep clear of that “birds” (it is a SH5 conversion of the “Swordfish”):

Returning home to Kiel after 3 weeks of challenge. Now i've to spend 3 weeks in harbour to refit my boat. Let's see what Kiel can “offer”:

That's for the first patrol. If you would like a continuation of this “report”, i'll do it. Sorry for my “bad” English – i'll try to do it as well as possible.

Let me say: “SilentHunterIII” is still the best subsim i've ever played. Folks – keep that thing alive! I'll do so – and I know many of the great contributors to SH3 will do so, too. So – THANKS to all. Here and all over the world of SH3.

Greetings

The second patrol (from October, 13th to October, 25th), only 13 days on sea. “Good old Swede”. Don't cross my line!

A view from the engine room to the front – THANKS to “flakmonkey” for this great MOD:

My first convoy. From the LEFT to the RIGHT: Luftwaffe, Luftwaffe, my self, my self. That will happen if you call for supply (by the Luftwaffe):

Although the BdU forced me to pay the canal bill . I did it.! And I will do it again. Again and again as long as no planes are above Germany:

The Rendsburg pivot bridge. That's the reason why to play with harbours and more:

The next patrol will follow – as I got time to play (and to mod) SH3.

Greetings

Hi jimbuna,

i do not know much about this damed war. But i think, that you are a great contributor to this theatre. I think, if "Uncle Neal" is making some kind of this stuff "stickey", where everyone can post his carreer experiance - in a kind of an AAR as you made with all this woderfull pictures - SH3 will be still alive.

So "thanks" to all the "Super-MODS" that keep this game alive. And this story will never ever end - hope so.

Lovely stuff, Rowi. I'm glad to see you're playing, and not 'just' modding.

We like to be in Haitabu .Thats we "old Wikingers" do so

Sorry but it' just a ....Sorry, it's the "late" 1970 anniversar.

Absolutly right - jimbuna; as ever.

what wolud we made out of this "old" game if we don't get that hints.

It is my hope that people like you will still keep this damned old thing alive - i will allways say: from the easy beginning until to the final fatalism .

We've got great MODs to help us understanding that "critical" experience of (virtual) life.

Greetings

One question : Which mod do you use to produce the freighter with the "critical" cargo of your first patrol?

Gute Jadg Herr Kaleun!

Hi VONHARRIS

you've got a PM. Nice signature - the greek navy also got the "Chas Adams-Class" destroyer

Was a wonderfull ship-class. We've got three: "Lütjens", "Rommel" and "Mölders"". But all of theese ships were wrecked.

As time goes by. We can not stop it,

Greetings

Yes the Greek Navy had 4 of these ships , primarly for the SM-1MR area defence system.
Nice multi purpose destroyers but a logistics nightmare.
They were : D-218 Kimon
D-219 Nearxos on which I served as a conscript for 19 months as a radar operator
D-220 Themistoclis
D-221 Formion
The HS Nearxos was sunk outside Crete as a target for an Exocet SSM and a Mk 46 torpedo. The same fate had all the others.
We also had a fifth Charles F. Adams DD for spare parts.
