Default [REQ] TrackIR Headtracking?

I agree that it sounds like a rather complex thing to do.
If it's way too hard then just forget about it because it's not a huge thing.

But it would be rather cool to use trackIR the same way it's used in ARMAII, you move your head back and forth, but the body would stays the same.
The WASD controls should also be changed so you're not strafing, because it's not an FPS so there's no need for strafing and with trackIR you can look around instead of using the mouselook.

It realize it might not much actual gameplay value, but just now I was standing on deck while the boat set off from the harbour ordering my crew around with the voice commands mod, and I thought the only missing thing would be if I could look around with trackIR to check for other boats and such.
And when using the navigation map you could use trackIR to zoom, scroll and pan the view around.

Sure I can do it with the mouse, but the feeling is just not the same, anyone who has used trackIR can tell you that.

Hi,

+1 for you Seiseki

Would love such a mod which could make SH5's bridge lookout more immersive !

Don't think it's possible. ArmA was designed with the feature in mind. SH5, like most games, doesn't support the option to turn the "head" independently.

Honestly though, do you want to wear out such an expensive piece of kit on that rather limited functionality? It makes sense in a flight sim, maybe in ArmA, but SH?

I'm not sure it wears out with use like that :P

I heard in another thread that someone had managed to move the mouse pointer with trackIR, or perhaps it was freetrack, if anyone knows any software which does that, feel free to post it here.

Now I just need a tablet for plotting courses ;D
Imagine having one of those tablets with a display, and being able to have the nav map on it constantly, wow..

If SH5 wasn't built with the Tracker IR in mind, I don't believe there can even be a mod made to implement it. I use the Tracker in FSX and IL2 1946 and it's the best thing there is. In Sh5 it would be very limitied in it's use so it's probably not even worth monkeying with. Just my 2 cents.

But if some can do a mod, go for it.

As long as u are happy with only beeing able to look up/down and Left/right
( x and y axis) u can use the standard mouse tracker utility which comes with the Track Ir software. You willll still need the mouse from time to time, then you just have to keep your head in one position. 6DOF (leaning to the side and back/forward,up/down..) in SH5 is not possible and not necessary i think.
