Default Newbie seeking guidance

I'm running SH III with GWX 3.0 plus SH3 Commander.

Is there anything else I should have? I've played a number of scenarios and campaigns, but I'm sure I'm missing things.

Any advice?

Default Be more agressive

You could shop for mods for the environment or, in other words, small changes to what you see or hear, that make big changes to enjoyment.

If you are bored, try the mission editor and see how you do there.

Oops

I forgot the advice part. If you are experimenting with mods, add one, test a while, but never add several at once. Conflicts.

I like the water streams one... adds a nice touch of realism to the boat bouncing in and out of the waves...

oh.. and the life boat and debris one is nice too.

As mentioned, go for simple ones first, and ones that don't seem to conflict with other mods. And add one by one using JGSME

Try the Water Streams + Exhaust Smoke Combo - it will give you water streaming out of the outer hull vents as well as smoke from your diesel exhaust vents when you are cruising on the surface. Very cool.

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1538

Lifeboats & Debris will put added debris in the water when you sink something plus add the possibility of survivors in lifeboats appearing to row away from the wreckage.

JGSME you should already have, it installs with GWX3!

You can use JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) v2.4 by JScones to install your mods[http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show....php?t=169090]

There are so many great 'fun' mods that no one could ever list them all. Rather than make yet another list of my favorites I'll direct you here:

Does "Torpedo Damage Final" play nicely with GWX - Gold?

I'm tracking my copy of SH3 that I bought off Amazon. It's "out for delivery" as we speak (er? type). WooHoo!!!
