Well first time SH5, 2years SH3. Installed SH5 tonight for the first time and the control interfaces are so different. Wheres the dials and guages? All i have is those fruity little controls top right and bottom left, am i missing something. I this how im supposed to control my boat just by these dinky controls!

As Gunfighter stated, check out the Mods section.
In particular TheDarkWraiths Multiple UIs. This Mod will allow you to have the old dials like SH3/4 or a newer improved version of SH5 which is a lot easier (in my opinion) to use.

You do realise that the first mission is a tutorial and the full interface doesnt become available until you complete the tasks in the tutorial . Once you have followed the tasks and reach kiel then the full game becomes available . Download TheDarkWraiths user interface mod and his AI mod as a minimum . The vanilla game is complete garbage . You do know how to install mods with the mod enabler ?

Hi Sober, No i didnt know that, It that first 4 British waters, Weesserberg,(or something) and another 2 others?? Cant seem to figure out how to get a shot with my torps. Whats this 123 business i see. Sorry but i am so used to SH3 this is so weird.

Download Multiple ui mod http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=166093 Download the AI mod http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=171973 Install these mods via the mod enabler . Set the Realism to realistic . Restart the campaign but instead of doing the tutorial , when on the campaign selection screen type silentotto and all the campaigns become available . choose say Happy Times campaign . Go from there , ask questions . |

Ok loaded the ai mod and the controls, how do i activate the different controls?? Plus i opened up all levels, which is great. Thanks

You see the heading bar down the bottom left , click in the middle of it and the compass appears , click on the grey compass tab and the compass changes to a rudder dial . What controls are you talking about ? When you enabled the UI mod did you look for a folder that says MODS , in that folder is all the mods to enable (only enable the ones you want) .

Sometimes i think it would be easier captaining a uboat than setting SH5 up to play . When logging on and on the logging in screen (thats the little white screen before the game starts loading) , click the little wheel on the top right and deactivate games saves syncronising with ubisoft or they will get screwed .

Now i will talk about what happens in the bunker LOL .
Ok , so you have used the silentotto hack to bring up all the campaigns . Start a new career , lets say the happy times and this will bring you to the bunker . Now because you have used the silentotto hack , no upgrades will show up . We overcome this by ESC out of the bunker and go back to the main game menu screen . Now go to the save\load screen and click on the top save which will be your latest save which is the save game in port . Click on that save and you will be in the bunker again . You will see 2 guys standing against the wall of the bunker . the 1 with the light color shirt is the supply officer . Go up to him until the curser turnes into a hand and click on him . You should have 2000 renoun to upgrade and dont forget to check your torp supply as they dont auto reload . Now exit out (but stay in the bunker )and go see the guy with the dark shirt . How to select a mission http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=272 after selecting a mission by clicking on an iron cross on the briefing map and then exiting back to the bunker , click on the dark shirt again and select lets start the new patrol . If you dont want any missions then just click on the dark shirt and select start the new patrol without going into the briefing map . |
