SH III cannot be installed on my new Vista

This is a continuation of several problems I have been going through over a major failure of my computer that had XP and now Vista. I tried to install SHIII and it took forever, so I imagine it is installed and yet when I try and run it, I get a message that says: ERROR: to install this application, you must have administration rights on your computer. As far as I know, I do as I have no problems installing any other programs. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I am using Windows Ultimate 7 64-bit (not Vista) and can not answer whether it needed something extra to get SH3 to work, then I with my OS has no problems at all with the SH3 + GWX3, but it will certainly come someone here, that may help you with a solution
