Default Super convoy

It was 1945, We were around Scotland when we spotted a convoy.
I attacked the convoy and got two merchants. The escorts had no idea where I was. Then a light shines on the periscope, not from the escorts, from the task force behind it. Those guys went to town on us, they opened fire and the escorts opened fire, it was a mess.

They hit my periscope while I was diving, they were on top of me in minutes, first one that passed hit my sonar and one of my electric engines and the next one destroyed both electric engines. After a few hours of hell...no more DCs, now what?

Man , this is tough luck!
Did you survive?
I haven't been in a similar situation. I wouldn't like to be in your shoes.
In RL , this was common especially in 1945.

Wait awhile longer till you're certain they've given up and sailed away, then blow ballast and hope your diesels and fuel tanks still work.

Must say, I've never been run down by a TF before. That must have had the hairs on your neck standing on end. Grats on your survival.

Update: More DC's, got a few hours of air left. I've made up my mind, I'm not going to give the RN the joy of killing me. I seem to be drifting toward land, not good.

When we start run out of air, I'm going to dive till the hull gives in. I don't see a wayout of this and I don't plan on dieing a coward.

It just occurred to me that the KM would benefit from some sort of flying Uboat. Yes, a flying Uboat armed with aerial depth charges to drop on the destroyers.

I approve.

They could put these flat metal things on them and place the propellers on the front and/or back, and call them airplanes. They would also be a LOT more reliable than the stupid Luftwaffe when it came to helping our u-boats or battleships out. You know, like actually showing up in time or at all.

Another solution, Dolphins are useful:

Dolphin - Mr. Fleck

The Bird is the Word.
