Default GWX and Steam?

I tried searching and couldn't get the results narrowed down enough to be useful. Doesn't help that torps are 'steam' powered lol.

Anyways, downloaded GWX the other day, I think i have a clean install (only one campaign, no mods that I know of), and tried to install. It wouldn't let me saying I had active mods running. Thing is, I bought the game (SHIII) from steam few weeks ago and it was installed from there. It seems Steam launches the game, so I think that may be the problem.

I have since Installed SH3C and it seems to be working fine.

On a lighter note, I was just hoping to find a fun, and cheap, game to play in my spare time. Little did I know how much time this games takes! But I love It! And i was ecstatic to find an ACTIVE community for a dated game that already has 2 released versions since!

Having read this forum a bit, I think you guys are doing a great job. The amount of work you guys put in is amazing.

And i think some of you are nuts for going to these lengths for realism!!

Anyways, any ideas on installing GWX onto a steam bound version of SH3?

Direct the GWX installer to the Steam Apps folder. This is where it houses all of SH3's core files.

Also, your current campaign will not be compatible with GWX, it's advisable to delete the SH3 folder in My Documents but see how you go.

GWX will only make to worse!

But in a more realistic way!

Turn your speaker up loud on installing GWX 3
It helps the install.

I'm surprised you didn't sneak this into the install screens somewhere.

Not advisable when wearing headphones. My ears still bleed on occasion.
