Default Will these games work with Vista??

Two days ago I had XP. Screwed up the computer so bad even the tech that came out could not get back into XP, do he did a install of Vista. However, I recently ordered Silent Hunter III which is going to be my introduction to Sub sims. Will it work with Vista? (on a side not, does anyone have any feedback about Vista? Should I try and go back to XP, stay with Vista, or upgrade to Win 7??) Thanks in advance for your help.

The non-Starforce SHIII works fine with Vista. If it comes with Starforce, you'll need to download a patch. After that, things work just fine.

Don't stick with Vista! Go for Win 7 or if you must, XP.

Any good tech wouldn't have put Vista on

Default Will SH III work with Win7??

If I do upgrade to Win7, will SH III work with it? I imagine the latest version of SH might work with W7, but I am new to all of this and want to learn on something not to difficult as in an earlier version. Your thoughts?

I don't know. I've been using Vista since release, and have had no problems playing SHIII, nor have I had any performance issues. SHIII, even with GWX, is not nearly as memory intensive as the more recent releases, so there is really no need for you to spend another $200 in order to play the game.

If the tech just install vista and no updates/service packs then you might want to download all vistas updates of Microsoft website first before you install SH3.
