just bout it 2 hours ago and its updating right now (Lots of updates since july). now its finished. gonna start playing!

This game is the sequel to Starcraft I, one of the best games ever created in my opinion, and it follows the story of how colony ships from earth loaded with political dissidents and convicts (just like australia, Lol) crashed landed in a distant sector away from earth. they colonized the worlds and eventually created a supercorrupt (no suprises there) government. The first SC takes place after the confederacy has been well established throughout the sector. The confed world, chau sara, is a fringe world, and world on the very border of confed space. Suddenly, out of the void, a fleet of sparkling shining alien ships come and incinerate the entire planet, turning the entire planet into a massive fireball. they then retreat back out into space. The confederacy sends troops to the bordering world of Mar sara, and begin "evacuating" civilians. in the process of "evacuaton" (they never really evacuated, just hereded them away from certain areas), a new xenomorphic alien species attacks the world. These beings are masters of biomutation and bioengineering and have integrated different species into their warrior caste after mutating them into extremely ferocious and EXTREMELY deadly warriors. in the Book "Liberties Crusade", it tells of one of the first encounters, which was unbelievably grusome and bloody. Daniel liberty, a military reporter, was saved from the zerg by a local marshall, jim raynor.

Jim saves liberty, and then responds to a distress call from a backwater outpost, which was infested by zerg, the name of the xenomorphs. After killing the zerg, raynor was arrested by confederate forces because he disobeyed an order not to help the outpost. The planet was then being overrun, when Arcturus Mengsk stepped in. A rebel fighting against the tyrannical confederacy after his world, Korhal IV, was total annhilated with nukes from orbit after an uprising occured there. He stepped in and evacuated as many survivors as possible, including raynor and your character, simply known as Magistrate. after the evacuation, the planet was entirely overrun by the zerg, who are rather weak, but rely on overwhelming numbers. The protoss then winked in system and melted the planet and everything on it.

The next months was the same. The zerg escape the bombardment by protoss, and infest other worlds. The protoss, who were the aliens in gleaming starships, were bent on exterminating All zerg. the protoss and zerg were rivals, and we were caught in the middle. On antiga prime, Arcturus Mengsk and his new ally, Raynor, who joined the rebels, helped the outraged public break free of confederate rule with the help of raynor and a special operative named Sarah Kerrigan. She was a ghost, a spec operative with telepathic abilities. There were only a few thousand ghosts in active duty, and she joined the rebels after mengsk personally freed her from the conferdates brutal treatment of ghosts. Once free, the population rose up and fought. However, the zerg had already gotten here, and started to overrun the colony. The confederates sent an armada of battlecruisers, giant battleships of space, to deal with this. Arcturus was trapped. Back on Mar sara, before the rebels left, they raided a facility with information about the zerg. The rebels found out the confederates already KNEW about the zerg, and has already tried to control them. They also found out that THEY released the zerg on Chau sara deliberately so they could step in and eradicate them and use the victory as propaganda that the confederacy protected its people.

They also found blueprints about a machine. The zerg communicate by the same psionic abilities that ghosts do. The machine was like a gigantic beacon, and when a ghost activated it it would lure all zerg to that one location. Mengsk had already built it before antiga prime. He sent kerrigan and liberty (the reporter) to activate the device. The device lured millions of zerg to the planet. they appeared out of a warp hole, and smashed the confederate armada, allowing the rebels to escape.

More months passed, and the incident on antiga Prime made raynor and kerrigan doubt the stability of Mengsk. (because they let zerg destroy a planet with people still on it, and even felt sympathy for the confederates who were on the receiving end of the zergs rampage). They then attacked tarsonis, the confederate homeworld. They AGAIN used SEVERAL psionic emmiters (the luring machine thing) to lure BILLIONS of zerg on the planet and killed BILLIONS of people including protoss warriors that had arrived.

The confederacy was overturned and in its ruins mengsk started the terran dominion, which proved to be as corrupted as its predecessor.

However, during the battle of tarnosis the protoss started to send ground forces. Mensgk feared that if the protoss interfered with the zerg's crushing of the confederacy, the confederates might escape. so mengsk sent kerrigan (and you) to kill the protoss. However, the zerg QUICKLY overran kerrigan and her forces, and mengsk, instead of sending evac shuttles, abandoned the system, leaving kerrigan there. Raynor was enfuriated, and quit the sons of korhal (the rebel group) to go and save her. He was too late. there was no trace of her.

She had been taken by the zerg, and morphed into an agent of the zerg, nicknamed the Queen of Blades. She went on to fight the dominion and kill anything in her path. When the protoss tried killing one of the zerg leaders, a cerebrate, the overmind, who led All zerg and was the "king", touched minds with one of the protoss leader and found the location of the protoss homeworld, auir. the zerg then decimated the homeworld forcing the protoss to fight for their lives. Tassadar, a great prtoss commander, sought out help from a banished group of prtoss who used power from "the void" instead of "khala", and because of that they were banished from Auir. The void/khala were basically the protoss religion and it existed instead of being blind faith like christianity. Tassadar sought these outcasts because only their power could destroy the cerebrates, because if traditional force was used the overmind recreated the cerebrates. In the process of trying to bring back outcasts, tassadar was branded a traitor, and was hunted down.

Auir was pretty much in ruins, and only in the final hours did the council, who were the leaders, realize tassadar was right. Tassadar made a final push against the overmind, and whilst commanding his flagship, the gantrithor, he sacrificed himself to destroy the overmind. He focused all of the void energy he could throughout the ship, and once enough energy was built up he crashed into the overmind, and killed it. (BTW the overmind was a huge immovable being, being more of a structure then a being. He was however the leader and he was an intelligent being).

Part 2, (the expansion pack of the game)

After the overmind was destroyed, The armies of the zerg were scattered and rampaging unchecked throughout their empire. Kerrigan regained control, and killed some of the rampaging swarms. after regaining some control, she went on with her offensive.

Meanwhile, A new armade sent from earth arrived insystem to regain control. calling themselves the UED, they took apart the dominion piece by piece. By the time the dominion was in full retreat, a new overmind was created. it regained control of the broods, however dissected itself from kerrigan's rule. The UED came in, and after a lengthy and brutal battle they tamed the overmind with drugs.

Kerrigan then lost control of Almost all her broods. she campaigned against the UED and started taking it down

meanwhile on Auir, The protoss had begun evacuating survivors to the outcasts (known as the dark templar) homeworld of shakura. they then started gathering up scared powerful crystals that when unleashed would create an enourmously powerful energy. AFter rounding them up, they fought their way to the xel naga temple. the Xel nage were the supposed creators of the protoss AND zerg, but they lost control of the zerg early. The temple was the palce where the crystals powers would be reunited. Zeratul, the leader of the protoss, and basically the General of the protoss army (i forget his name) reunited the crystals, and it sent a massive burst of energy, ridding shakuras of zerg prescence.

Kerrigan meanwhile, has been very sucessful, After tricking Raynor, who was now a rebel of his own, and fenix, who is just a main character, into helping destroy the overmind. She then proceeded to destroy the UED, AND the remains of the dominion. in the end, all 3 factions, the protoss, UED, and terran dominion sent an all out attack against kerrigan. Kerrigan destroyed them all.

The dominions remains, (including mengsk) escaped, the Protoss retreated, and the UED fled back to earth. Kerrigan let them get a head start, then destroyed every last fleeing ship. no ship ever made it back to earth to report what happened.

(Btw, the UED was betrayed by Samir Duran, who pretended to be an ally, but who was really infected by the swarm.) all this happened over 6 lengthy campaigns in the first SC. as a bonus mission, Zeratul explores a signal on a neraby moon. The moon is infested by zerg. On the moon he finds Stasis cells and test facilities.

Zeratul sees montrosities inside the cells. The beings are hybrids, and they are a mix with protoss and zerg DNA. Duran shows up, and explains that there are thousands who are preparing, and soon a force more powerful, destructive, and vicious then kerrigan will be unleashed, and it will be the greatest force the universe has ever seen.

Thats were SC2 stats off,and i will begin playing now. ill tell you how it goes

Played Starcraft I and I think it was really a great one. But I'm not interested at all in getting Starcraft II.

Perhaps it is age but I don't find RTS game amusing anymore.

i liked C&C 3 too. And generals, that one owned. didnt like kanes wrath though. Wasnt very good.

im merely telling any would be consumers of a product. It doesnt necessarily have to be about a game. this is techincally a review/overview of a product on the market, so it can still fall under the general topics category.
