Default Pay back for Pearl...

I got to thinking, no way to attack the JP fleet before Pearl, but what about on the way home. Reading a book the fleet returns through the Bungo, so having time leaving Manila to get there before they come through, there I go. Course I ran into one of the big invasion forces and sunk two pass. liners...like to have those torps back.

So I'm sitting in the Bungo and basically on the correct date...bam..large TF returning heading NW entering the Bungo...Got to be the returning Pearl fleet, ID'ed 4 carriers, 2 BB's and more ships than I can count. So I assume it's got to be them returning. I assume Lurker did this, but if you want payback for Pearl sit in the Bungo Dec 20..

Preparing to attack, not many torps left and a few DD's spotted me, so the fight it on.

Couldn't get off a decent attack, escorts had me down and dang M10's, few M14 were duds, shot by sonar guessing and range too long.

Started a new career out of Manila and went to the Bungo again. Had cams on, contacts off, but a nice TF, total of six carriers, 2 BB's, 2 CA's and a crap load of escorts. Did sink the Hiryu, missed the Soryu. This is a fast TF, 28 kts, slowed down to 22 after my attack, so no way to chase them north after first attack.

I forgot to install air radar, what a pain....but was fun with no contacts.

This is the Pearl returning group, so got a little payback.
