Default Minefields

I'm in my first campaign, threading my way through the English Channel when I remember SHIII and the mines.

I did a search but found no reference here about SH5 and mines.

Does anybody have information (experience or fact) about them in stock or modded game?

Being in Canada, we were only able to get the minimal package (tiny useless manual) and so I depend upon the European kaleuns who got the big book.

I'm wondering if I should head North for a trip around Scotland instead.

I run the English Channel a lot and have yet to see mines (there's lots of destroyer patrols, but no mines). I don't think they're in the stock game, but I'm only on the first mission set, so they might show up later in the war I just don't know. So if you're still on Total Germany you'll be fine, just watch out for the patrols in the Dover Straight.

Default Dover, eh?

Thanks.

So far so good. I've slipped past Calais. I had my sonar guy use his 'detect hidden enemies' ability. Then I set depth 20, speed 4 with a full battery and set course to pass on the French side. Most of the destroyers are on the Brit side.

No, mines are not implemented in game. We(the modders) have tried to get them to work but have been unsuccessful so far.

i'm sure we can create our own subnets and mines if
they are not hardcoded anymore and spawn them
in an unusual way.
