Default Democrats in chaos

Wow the far left are now trying to distance themselves from each other.

The American threshold for loss of personal liberty is perhaps lower than in the rest of the world, so yeah, our definition of "left" is different. The US Constitution is a center-right (in modern US terminology, useless as left/right actually is anyway) document. It has to be "interpreted" to read the American left way.

Oddly enough, at the time it was pretty radical.

Sort of on-topic, the tea party is certainly fubaring the right. Look at Delaware. They gave a total loon the nod, and basically just lost the party the Senate.

I originally thought the same as you. But now I think in the long run it sends a message to soft Rep's and RINOs every where as to how they should run to win. To lose one seat to send that message is worth the loss. It also sends a message to liberal/progressive Democrats and shifts them to the right.

There is no such thing as "sending a message." There is winning, and losing. That's it. The "send a message" has been what the losertarians have said for years. They are meaningless as a party, except possibly a spoiler—making things worse.

Eye on the ball. The Tea Party wants to get rid of things that have already been jammed down our throats; "we'll have to pass it so you can see what's in it." Controlling the Senate would have helped (though without a solid 60 votes, that's not that critical).

When Senator Mukowski (R) of Alaska and Representative Castle (R) of Delaware won't call to congratualte or support there primary opponents both Repiublicans it tells you something about their loyalties. Doesn't it.

Well it certainly says something about them.

Political elites need to know they are only elite at the pleasure of the electorate.

I'm more than willing to let the Democrats deal with their political elites.

Can you repeat that message in the "can you hear us now" topic as Steamwake doesn't realise that nominating fruitcakes in primaries means alienating voters in the actual election.

I'm sure it has already been said. but is changing ones mind to fit the facts on the ground only allowed for liberal/progressives?

Though the Buckley rule is often correct, thanks to the Obama agenda, we can start over this year. If the Democrats don't act simularly, to weed out their left wing, 1960's Manson Family hippies, they will be in the political wilderness for some time to come.
