I know this has probably been asked before - but a Forum search didn't find it. In the real world, damn near ALL ships - Allied or Axis, naval or merchant - used knots for speed and nautical miles for distance. It is slightly irritating to be using metric units for this - strictly a landlubbers thing. Is there any way to modify the way SH3 uses these measurements in game? Including all the mapping tools, etc.? Probably a very tall order for modders - but ya'll have worked so many wonders so far I figure it don't hurt to ask!

The Kriegsmarine used knots for speed and nautical miles for distance travelled. All attack plots were in meters, just as in the US Navy they were done in yards.

Correct on the tactical plots - but I was referring more to the navigation mapping tools, and the reports of the NA on distance to end plot, next plot, etc. Making circles on the map to make SURE I am far enuf away from things to save the game! And other mundane tasks.

Ah, gotcha. Are they in km? I seem to have never noticed.
