My mod gets rid of all the immersion messages and just gives you the mission specific messages that you need to keep you situationally aware - declarations of war, opening of new bases etc. Perfect for the player who doesn't want to be returned to TC1 every few minutes.
If you're after realism there are a couple of immersion mods that replicate the messages sent during WW2, especially danurve's well researched mods. If you're after realism then I can't recommend danurve's RadioLog expanded mod enough - it really puts you back in the 1940s. His mod is at: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...hlight=danurve

Or you can refuse to use TC over 128. All those messages seem few and far-between then.
