Default To increase MTB motion (on the bridge etc)

I have been on a fair few powerboats over the years, they bounce about very uncomfortably and they lean into high speed turns.

The motorboats in PT boats are really neutered in this respect. (this is possibly understandable, the last thing a software company wants to risk doing is to make people physically sick !)

To correct this go into Gamedata/Navals/ the relevant ship and open PhysHull.xml:-

<inertiaTensor>5.00135e+006 5.02032e+006 6.38118e+006</inertiaTensor>

These three numbers define how much the boat bounces about, reduce them and motion becomes more volatile, (these are from an S boat... about a 50% reduction seems to be somewhat closer to how a more modern motor boat (eg a Pilot vessel, similar length and power) feels from memory.

This tendency seems to be part of multiplier that also relates to water state. It maybe that the optimum maybe to reduce this <inertiaTensor> number (for general movement which there is not enough off...) but damp the sea mutliplayer which may allow much more stormy seas and still allow control ?

I like this game, its a shame about its reception.

MTB's have been a long term interest of mine and this is really the only game to go near it with a modern graphics engine, its a shame about some aspects of it, but there is a core that is good.
I hope some people retain an interest as it does have a lot of potential as others have already pointed out.

I would love to make a set of missions that follow the engagements of Lt Cmdr. Robert Hitchens DSO DSC RNVR who is a legend in the RN. But the mission files are not easy to manually edit. ( I will have more of a look. )

On another note, I did manage to trackdown the SG expansion (in Russian)...it adds a few more ships (Italian MAS and some DD's & Cruisers) and also some aircraft and minefields.
It is very easy to add/remove elements/objects to the battlefield install (but of course it is not right to distribute this content for copyright reasons),

But with or without SG, it probably isn't that difficult to reskin the Elco's (PT-Boats) plus add a US flag and create a new ship folder...everything is very easy to edit. It wouldn't take all that much to migrate this to the Pacific. There is already a Fletcher class DD and other ships that just need some superficial changes. The choice's for the IJN maybe a little more complicated...but its definitely relatively easy to do....

The bugbear is mission creation though currently :-(
