Default UBI drop DRM for RUSE

Ubisoft has stated they will drop their DRM for ruse and will be using steam instead.
Maybe some hope for SH5.

Thats why i reckon we dont have another patch . The no drm patch is made and another patch would break the no drm patch .

Curious news.

I havent heard how is sales of RUSE doing?

It looked like an interesting title but the DRM gave me pause.

The original source code probably did not have DRM.
Just like the original source code for SH3 did not include Star Force.
(Check the file dates on no Star Force versions sold now!)
So a no DRM version is most likely sitting somewhere.

I'd think it's locked up tight by UbiSoft right now.
(Not that some people aren't looking remove it properly. )

Could be that DRM finaly killed the 1.3 patch ?? they have a 1.2 no DRM and don´t want to make a 1.3 patch.

Also with this way they can shut down SHV servers early ( $$ ) compared if they released a 1.3 DRM patch

That is an interesting sign... Maybe they have figured by now that Uplay is a U-Antisales?

U-play has nothing to do with it.

You can play Steam applications/games whilst offline if you use the correct settings.

Ubisoft requires an "always on" connection; the game pings a server constantly and pauses/quits if there is no response. Having a download running in the background, for example, is likely to disrupt your game, and some games, like Splinter Cell Conviction, don't even need that to be flakey.

Steam just requires you to login, after that you can use it, even if the connection fails. You can even restart Steam in offline mode, so you don't need a connection at all anymore. You need to login online before you can switch though, so the argument some use that Steam games don't require a connection at all is simply false, at least to some extent.

Also Steam gives you far more. Achievements, Steamworks, updates, IM, Voice chat etc...

As DRM goes it is by far the best.
