Default Contact reports now as stars?? How?

Okay! I give up!

I've scanned the entire SH IV install several times with both FastStone Image Viewer and IrfanView and I'll be darned if I can find this "new" icon I now suddenly have in TMO:

So - out of pure desperation and before going nuts - can you help me?

Where is it located?

and...
How did I it get there?

Thanks!

I forget at the moment where it is, but the reason it is there is because you set the ship/sub as a "high priority contact" in the mission editor. It has been quite a while but I don't think it is a Star, I think it shows as a square with a star shaped selection. But like I say it has been a while. If I find it I will get back to you with it.

Edit: I didn't read the post careful enough, it's in TMO then it could be there for most any reason with Ducimus. He may have changed something. But nomally you get it for the reason above.

Oh,darn, I tried to get here before you went nuts, but I didn't quite make it......sorry.

Help is on the way, hang in there! Peabody is right about the high priority. The file is not TMO specific, it is part of the stock game. I found it in my stock Data folder.

Look here: Data\Menu\Gui\Units\Important.dds

No, he's actually innocent this time.

I have added several smaller mods - and maybe even removed something.
The install was all to my likings, so I disabled all mods and merged it into one.
And voila! Big red star appeared!

Now I regret my cleaning-up procedure! but will play this new patrol to the end and if no answer comes up, I guess I'll start all over again.

edit - I'm slow at both reading and typing:

yeah, I did see that one, but "mine" is red and the ship appears to be broken?
Before messing up, contacts of all kinds were shown with a square. How do I get that back then?

Damn me! All this trouble just because of one tiny icon!
But since everything else in my TMO install is absolutely perfect, I would really like to see it solved.

All the other "stars" for missions are in the terrain/locationmaps but the "target" one in there is also yellow.

It turned out to be not the only problem...

Lesson learned: always use JSGME to merge mods! Can't believe nobody mentioned this before!

Isn't there a sub-forum "Most embarrashing threads ever!" where this one can be moved to?
