Things you learned from SubSim?
For the longest time I thought the periscope was a telescoping system- 3 or 4 sections like a car radio antenna. Since viewing a couple of diagrams and schematics here, I found it's a single tube, height depending on the overall vertical size of the hull. Mind you, this was back when I first wandered into a sub game like '3'.
