My old hard drive went out of commission last sunday. It didn't fail completely, but large areas of it were damaged and now it's not safe to use it.
I bought a new Seagate hard drive. It's been almost two days since I installed it. But now when I use HDTune, the SMART readings say that the High Fly Write count is now 13. Wikipedia says that High Fly Write is a protection feature designed to avoid writing when the read/write head is outside its normal operating range. Anyway, chkdsk nor any other error detection tool detects any other problems, and the Reallocation Event Count is 0. Should I worry about this? |
