Aight, so im off madagascar, ive only got 25% fuel left and its a long
voyage back to penang (im running my bellowed type XXI) Anyways, so i move to one of the "combat support units", click the icon and sets the mark close to me, and pretty soon i see a "auxiliary cruiser" heading my way. in fact he takes a nice sircle around me (at about 300 meters) and leaves...withouth so much as thinking about stopping. im mystified.. how do i get him to stop and help me out here ? ive checked out all the buttons, afaik theres no such thing as: "stop and help"/refuel/rearm"... or something like that, the shortcut menu neither contains such a command. oh..almost forgot to add, there was neither any icon on top right of screen as there is when you can dock and/or refit at port. so.. was ist los ? ich neede fuel pretty bad ![]() nappy-almost-out-of-fuel Last edited by nappy; 06-13-10 at 06:46 PM. |

hmm..are you playing stock?
i'm trying to remember how this works... i know you can go to any axis aligned port for a refit anytime you want. otherwise,i'm fairly certain you just have to navigate close enough to the resupply ship to initiate the refit. go at a speed that is the most fuel economic for the uboat you are operating, or use your batteries submerged to make the distance. they can recharge surfaced w/o moving (burning diesel) if you run out of fuel, you are screwed. anyone else reiterate further? trying to look for a video tutorial, not having good luck. |

So that may not have been a refuel deal, although I think it has been modded. Peabody

sorry. forgot about the mods.
Im using: RFB_2.0 RFB_2.0_patch_23April2010 RSRDC_RFB_V575 RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1 Spaxs SH4 Uboat SPEECH FIX_V8 That being said, i have checked that book in the captains cabin at the start of my career, and concluded that it offers the same options as pressing the "M" button where one can report contacts and ask for new orders (i havent checked the book after that first time). I am now in 1944 and ive been promoted once. Pressing "M" i have never seen anything but the above mentioned options. Are you saying that if i now access that book in the captains cabin, ill find more options? If that is the case(or not.. as the case may be..heh), what is the point of having multiple "combat support units" shown on the map, where i can press on it, and within a certain area of that unit, order an auxiliary cruiser to appear, if not to resuply myself ? But in stock, if you click on the papers you get a tabbed set of papers, if you click on each tab it tells you what you can do and the requirement. When the new paper comes up on the left, it goes behind the first one so you have to select the edge of the paper to bring it to the front. 1. Request Air Coastal Reconnaissance From allied bases 2. Request German Aux Cruiser Support 3 Patrols Good or better. 3. Request German Heavy Cruiser Support and Air Reconnaissance from carriers 5 Patrols and a Campaign rating Good or better. 4. Request Japanese Cruiser Support 7 Patrols good or above. 5. Request Japanese Task Force support 5 Patrols of excellent or above. Peabody

these options you are refering to are stored under the tab "captain's abilities" ?
Im trying to figure out if what you are talking about is the same thing as pressing the button "M" which gives you a board with differnt tabs to press. If that is indeed the case, then i sertainly dont have the option to do anything but call in contact reports and ask for new orders ![]() nappy |

The papers that explain what you have available are on the Captain's Deck IN PORT. As I quoted above. Quote:
No, they are not on the clipboard which is what comes up with "M" in stock game. That is not what I mean. They would be used on the map with the small pencil, as I assume is how you called in 'Cruiser support", but not having the MODs installed it may be different. Peabody

I finally figured out how all of this works. It seems either the mods or the uboat mission addon, changes these options for the german side. All of them are seemingly shown on the map..in real time... meaning.. all the support ships and planes are shown on
the map moving around.. you can press one of them and order them around.. I have to say, discovering that i could order scout planes around has drastically changed the game for me.. i was stunned when i realized the potential.. i am no longer searching in the dark. not to mention that the plane icons on landbased airfields ALSO can be ordered around, with a much greater range.. this is way cool ![]() I just order a couple of scout planes to move around infront of me and voila, i have 1 or 2 convoys mapped out ![]() yet.. though the game has changed quite alot for me by yesterdays discovery.. i STILL havent figured out if resuply at sea is possible (well, at least with my current setup), and if so.. how to do it ![]() anyways, thanx for the help, appriciate it. nappy |
