Can't end this patrol!

Playing TMOwtw. Ran out of torps so went to port
at Tulagi and teamed/refueled, and then wanted to
go home to Pearl. Surprise, they sent me out, and
again! How do I end this cycle yet rearm for trip
home?

Be clearer. You say they sent you back out. Was Pearl your home docking base, did you dock, not sure what you mean by they sent you back out.

You dock at the base with the tilted anchor. Maybe it was Midway.

I completed the mission/patrol and received message to continue or return to base. Since I was out of torps and guns ammo I went to Tulagi to refit/rearm. I then expected to go back to Pearl, but I got a message sending me back out to another area to patrol. Since the message showed now a new incompleted message I didn't know if I could still RTB back at Pearl without completing this new patrol's objectives.

I think I understand your situation. You send a report that includes (without your knowledge) the remainder of your torpedoes. Is not it?
As long as you have weapons, you can fight. So COMSUBPAC sends you into battle again and again ...
It is better to go to Pearl to receive the fruits of your achievements and reward your crew, if not soon you will not find targets.
