Default SH4 Graphics issue

Ive had SH4 sitting around my house for almost a year and never bothered getting into it cos my computer stats didnt match up. I just got a new rig and i set graphics to full but i still notice the game is very pixelated and it is not looking as good as other people's screenshots.

Is there a way i can increase AA or is there a mod that will revamp the graphics to make them a lot better?

thanks

This should help:

Remove Grainy Effect

Also, check out one of the Environment Mods in the d\ls Section.

Its more of a resolution problem then a grainy effect one though. Is there a way to turn up the resolution higher or to enable anti aliasing?

What resolution are you running? As unlike SH3 ( stock ), there are many more resolution options to use with 4.

This thread if you use a Nvidia Card

Right-click desktop, click Catalyst Control Center and do your graphic settings here.

Mine are AA 16, AF 16, A.I. disabled, mipmap Q, vert. refresh always on, AAA on Q, trippel buffer on

Running a 4870x2 and it looks kinda ok...

What's the outcome of your tests? Or can you take a screenshot of the problem?

Hey Jan, sorry forgot to update. I think the problem was i didnt restart the game after switching resolution, all is fine now. I installed RFB and patched to 1.4, and just ordered the gold version so i can update further and maybe try the latest mods.

I have come across some other problems though, my torpedos seem to sometimes be going through my target so im gonna have to look into that. Also my contacts on the map and attack map disappear when i zoom in on them so im left doing quite inaccurate calculations.

On the plus side, I think i just mastered manual targeting

Oh yes, the missing restart. We could make a club - been there, done that

Reg. the disappering symbols you may play with SymbolZoom value in Data\Menu\cfg\Maps.cfg - not sure if that will "solve" it, as it could be a matter of RFB designed to have "invisible" ships shapes If the latter is the case, then you'll have to make a mod for adding shapes to RFB...

But thanks for the feedback!

I wish i had the patience or knowhow to mod but it just isnt in me.

I dont know if the problem is RFB related, maybe someone else who uses it could enlighten me. If thats the case ill try out TMO whenthe gold version arrives. I find it weird that with RFB(in my case anyway) the attack map doesnt have the contacts or torpedo trajectory as it renders is useless.
