How can I limit framerate in SH5?
Hi all!
First time writing on these forums. I've been reading you everyday for months but never needed to write since all my questions were answered by reading others' posts. I have a GTX 260 and the game runs all maxed out on 1080p with an acceptable performance of 30 mean fps. But the game lags sometimes when the framerate changes abruptly i.e. if I pointing the view from a ship sinking with fire and dark smoke to a clean angle where the computer has considerably less load to render. I know from other games that a good way to avoid this is just to limit the fps. In my case I'd like to limit it to 30fps. Anyone knows where is the config file and the option to do this? Thanks very much in advance. Regards. |

I know, but I don't want to enable Vsync at least until I can block the max fps to 30. Enabling Vsync doesn't work because the same effect happens even harder. The mean framerate is 30fps and if it changes to 50-60 fps 3 times in a second, for example, the game stutter (that's the reason for me wanting to limit max fps). But if I have Vsync, many of those frames have to wait to the next image is presented on the monitor increasing the stutter. I want to limit the fps, after that I could test which is better, with Vsync or not (but I doubt vsync will be better anyway, with so low processing margin in my budget)

Hi, and welcome aboard!
There was a thread previously about this subject, but I can't find it on search. Someone will be along who knows about this.

Hi and thanks
![]() You may refering to this topic? http://www.google.es/url?sa=t&source...Q_JREldoj13fcw It's the only one related I've managed to find. The FPS_Limiter app that solved his problem with SH3 is not valid for DX10 apps, so I can't use it with SH5 ![]() Thanks for the hint, though |

I run SH5 on win 7, so I can't use it either way
![]() I run with max settings, max AA on 1920x1080, not touching anything on nhancer and with the graphics card overclocked to 660/1370/1150 with EVGA Precision. The sim runs fine but it would be much better to be able to cap the fps. It stutters sometimes when fps suddenly rise to 50-60fps (so activating vsync doesn't help as I run it on a 60Hz monitor). I can lower some settings and get more fps, rising the mean fps to 40-50 but the same problem happens with ocasionally fps rises. It's not a problem for me to play at 30 fps but I if I could cap the framerate, the game would run much smoother. |

Did that and only the mean fps raises, but the stutters because of inestability on fps flow continues.
Thanks for the tries |
