Only served on one, USS Kentucky SSBN 737 Gold crew. Been on quite a few tour boats though. USS Bowfin, USS Pampanito, USS Nautilus, USS Midway, U-505, Russian Foxtrot that's in San Diego now. Been on other Tridents as well, but usually to beg, borrow, or steal something so we could get out to sea.

every ship in Fall River...
Nautilus (SSN-571 ((Who else wishes they would pull the reactor and open the whole boat up?))) Every ship in Mystic Seaport.. uhm the U-505 (shame they cut it up the way they did though, it's a german speakerbox with a history now) USS Intrepid (the Growler wasn't there though) USS North Carolina. ( I wonder if anyone messed with the settings in the after 16" turret, I had that thing bored in on the coast guard ship moored across the Cape...with the backup shot computer in the turret itself) I do of course want to go and see the rest of the museum ships, including the russian boat in SF and the Torsk (my mom works in Baltimore, so close yet so far)

I've been on (partial list, as best I can remember...)
All the ships at Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA (Lionfish, Massachusetts, Joseph Kennedy, etc) USS Pampanito, San Francisco, CA HMS Victory, Portsmouth UK Frigate "Rose", Newport RI Sloop "Providence" (got to go out for a day cruise) Barkentine "Regina Maris" (day cruise... had the helm while coming about) Juliette 484, Providence, RI (only a few months before it sank) USS Nautilus (not at sea) USS Intrepid USS Cassin Young, Boston, MA USCGC Eagle Before 9-11 we used to get a lot of ship visits and tours when I lived in Boston: USS Simpson (FFG) USS Biddle (CG) USS Guam USS Saipan USS Bunker Hill HMS Ark Royal (they had a wonderful napkin folding exhibit) USS Fulton A Mackenzie class DDH (HMCS SASKATCHEWAN I think) USS Aylwin (or another Knox-class FF... they let me play with aiming the ASROC launcher) USS McCloy USS Kennedy (CV-67) (took me two tries, the line was 6 hours long the first time!) And thanks to my Dad working on some historical research with Captain Tyrone Martin, I got a chance to go out on one of the turnaround cruises of the USS Constitution. That was a real high point! And most recently, I just got a tour of the USS Virginia. Seriously cool submarine.

I've never served in the navy. But I grew up in the city of Plymouth, home of the largest naval base in western europe (HMNB Devonport). So I saw many ships and subs and i have even helped built and refit a few ships and subs while i was an apprentice fabricator/welder. So as you can imagine, i've been on quite a few ships and subs.
The most famous ship that I've been on ( and I'm not old enough to have helped build this one ![]() ![]() ![]()
