CO2 levels raising on the surface

Is there anything that causes your CO2 levels to raise while on the surface? Because that's what I'm experiencing right now. I'm on route back to Midway and have been surface for hours now, and it's still raising. Is this a glitch, or might some damage cause this? I have some hull damage, but all my systems have are repaired.

Known bug, save and reload and it'll go away. Some say clicking on the CO icon to surface fixes it for them, but never once worked for me.
