Default PC Gamer review -- not good

The June issue of PC Gamer is not kind to the game, UBISOFT or DRM. It is on page 68. They do give credit to the modders who turn it into what it should have been out of the box.

Does anyone know why they put their issues out like that? Having an issue out a week 'early' makes sense, but then they started putting them out a month and a week early. So now it's April and the June edition is out... Why?

Most likely it's their marketing department telling them if their magazines are out a few days before other game magazines, they are likely to sell more copies. I get other magazines 4,5,6 weeks early. Even new cars are coming out early trying to get the jump on the competition.

All US magazines do that I've never understood it either.

I used to adore PC magazine and was a subscriber but not anymore buddy !!

I used to know the answer to that one, but I've forgotten and I can't find it now. I'll keep looking though.

So it can stay on store racks longer. The "June" (actual: April) edition can sit on the racks until June.

they need to stay on the racks because paper periodicals lost a lot of money after the internet blew up. I used to love my PC mags, there were like 3, now... wow i thought PC gamer went out of business too.

I think its because they release 13 issues a year. 1 every month and a xmas eddition too....

So i guess its so the dec issue doesn't come out the same time as the xmas issue.

PCGAMER UK version gives SH5 a 77% and concludes:

Gorgeous and pleasinly free form. Without the bugs and oppressive DRM, it would be the best Silent Hunter yet.

That pretty much sums up this ridiculous DRM scheme.

Oppressive.

Only because it was Silent Hunter did i buy into it. And never again....
