I'm playing SH IV v1.4 on a DELL XPS M1530 (Intel T8100, nvidia 8600M GT, 3Go DDR2) without any troubles and very decent framerates.

I only have some drops in framerates when goofing around with the external camera, and TMO wasn't as smooth as the vanilla version is, but it was still OK.

I quickly searched specs of your laptop, I think it should run ok.

I concur

If your GPU is 512 Mb minimum, you should be fine.

Oh, and for God's sake, Defrag your HD as soon as you finish downloading.

And remember to restart the PC once installation finishes, so that registry is updated.

If you have norton AV, disable it while playing the game.

Use task manager to close unnecessary processes eating up the memory.

Welcome to the SH community BTW

Running it on an Asus G73J-A1. It's like this machine was made for SH4. I'm in heaven.

I'm using a similar configuration (4GB RAM and a 2.5ish dual core processor) and the Pacific has been essentially smooth for me with occasional problems with the larger explosions or game response when running at 1500-odd time compression. I think my FPS average around the high sixties or so in the external view of Searaven.

On the other hand, I'm about clueless as to how to fight the Pacific war, and no amount of processor's going to fix that.

Depends on the laptop!

It runs fine on mine, core2duo T5800 (2*2GHz), 3Gb ram, intel4500mhd vid card/vista.
With all the eye candy enabled (except the light rays which look rubbish!) at 1280*800 i get ~40fps interors and 30-60 fps exteroir depending whats out there.

I also use a readyboost device (a 32Gb sd card) to prop up the system ram.

I run this game in Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro, runs well enough for me. If you ever run into problems though, just turn down some of the settings.
